Iceage<\/a> are back with a new album\u2014their first since 2021\u2014next month. For Love of Grace & the Hereafter is out May 29th via Mexican Summer<\/a>, and its announcement arrives alongside a music video for a new song, \u201cEmber,\u201d directed by the band and frontman Elias R\u00f8nnenfelt<\/a>\u2019s sister, Ira. The clip captures a solid day of shenanigans, which include dirt-biking, graffitiing, flying a kite, brandishing various plushies and smoke flares, and befriending a herd of sheep. For Love of Grace & the Hereafter was recorded in 2025 at Silence Studio in rural Sweden, the same space where Iceage made their 2014 album Plowing Into the Field of Love<\/a>. Longtime friend-of-the-band Nis Bysted assisted with mixing and producing the LP. \u201cThe songs needed to be immediate, urgent, raw, and fast,\u201d R\u00f8nnenfelt said in a press statement. \u201cWe wanted to try to shed any unnecessary weight. Catching outlets of energy is what excites us the most.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEmber\u201d is the second single Iceage have shared from For Love of Grace & the Hereafter, following last month\u2019s \u201cStar<\/a>.\u201d Its release marked the group\u2019s first new music<\/a> since 2021\u2019s Seek Shelter<\/a>. In the interim, R\u00f8nnenfelt in particular has stayed busy, releasing his debut solo album, Heavy Glory<\/a>, in 2024 and following it up with another LP, Speak Daggers<\/a>, last year.<\/p>\n
