Eight people were hospitalised – including one in a critical condition – after a serious crash in Bay of Plenty last night.<\/p>\n
The crash occurred on State Highway 2 at Waiotahe, near \u014cp\u014dtiki, around 8.30pm.<\/p>\n
St John said one person was in a critical condition and one serious. Four were moderate and two were minor.<\/p>\n
It sent a number of staff to the scene, with two helicopters attending. <\/p>\n
The road was closed while the serious crash unit investigated. It has since reopened. <\/p>\n
