Congratulations are in order for actress Aubrey Plaza, who has shared she is expecting her first child with partner Christopher Abbott.<\/p>\n

The news was confirmed via a rep for the 41-year-old White Lotus star, who told People<\/a> that the baby news was a pleasant surprise after an incredibly tough year. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,\u201d the source told the publication, adding that \u201cthey feel very blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plaza\u2019s world was turned upside down in January 2025 when her filmmaker husband Jeff Baena died suddenly at 47. <\/p>\n

He was found dead by an assistant <\/a>at his home in LA TMZ<\/a> reported at the time, with the LA County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office later confirming Baena died by suicide.<\/p>\n

Plaza and Abbott, 40, have reportedly been friends for some time. They have worked together on the off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea as well as the 2020 film Black Bear. <\/p>\n

Just weeks ago, the expecting mum stepped out at Paris Fashion Week, keeping her baby bump well hidden while taking to the front row of some high profile shows. <\/p>\n

In August last year, Plaza opened up for the first time about her husband\u2019s sudden death. <\/p>\n

The star broke down the \u201cdaily struggle\u201d to Amy Poehler\u2019s Good Hang <\/a>listeners. <\/p>\n

\u201cRight in this very present moment, I feel happy to be with you,\u201d she explained to her former Parks and Recreation co-star.<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, I\u2019m here and I\u2019m functioning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plaza noted that she was \u201cvery grateful to be moving through the world\u201d and felt \u201cOK\u201d.<\/p>\n

She went on to compare her mourning experience to the movie Gorge, which features two snipers guarding a gorge without knowing what\u2019s inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what my grief feels like or what grief could be like,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
