\n\tWhen asked about the challenges of making \u201cEuphoria<\/a>\u201d Season 3, one stuck out for series creator Sam Levinson: losing Angus Cloud<\/a> to an overdose in 2023. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLosing Angus was really hard for us as a production. I loved him very deeply,\u201d an emotional Levinson told Variety at Tuesday night\u2019s \u201cEuphoria\u201d Season 3 premiere in Hollywood. \u201cI fought hard to keep them clean.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tLevinson said he used the new season to honor Cloud and \u201ckeep him alive\u201d through storytelling.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added, \u201cI wanted to deal with that. I wanted to deal with questions about faith, about a power greater than ourselves. What it means to surrender your life and your will to God as you understand him?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Cloud, \u201cEuphoria\u201d also lost Eric Dane to ALS in February<\/a>. Dane already shot his scenes before he died, and Levinson said he was committed to closing out Season 3. Levinson recalled telling Dane that \u201cthere\u2019s no pressure\u201d to return to set following his ALS diagnosis, but Dane asserted, \u201c\u2018I want to do this.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen he showed up, I noticed that his speech was a little slurred,\u201d Levinson remembered. \u201cHe was a bit self-conscious, and I said, \u2018This works perfectly. We\u2019re gonna put five beer bottles in front of you, and you\u2019re about to say all of the shit you would never say if you were sober.\u2019 And we just had a blast shooting. We had 28 cast members on Saturday for the wedding. There\u2019s all these people around, and he just showed up with such grace and dignity. He\u2019s a consummate professional all the way through, and I miss him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter series star Zendaya suggested that Season 3 could be \u201cEuphoria\u2019s\u201d last, Levinson shared his thoughts on whether or not he would continue the show. Levinson said he writes \u201cevery season like it\u2019s the last season\u201d and has \u201cno plans\u201d for a Season 4. As of now, he said he is completely focused on delivering his best work with Season 3.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe said. \u201cI want to finish this as strong as I can. I\u2019m cutting [episodes] seven and eight still. I\u2019m putting some finishing touches. I just want to deliver a fucking slam dunk season.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tZendaya hinted quite strongly during an appearance on \u201cThe Drew Barrymore Show\u201d that the series is coming to end with Season 3. \u201cI think so, yeah,\u201d she said<\/a> when Barrymore asked it was the final season. Zendaya also said, \u201cThat closure is coming.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThere has been no official word from HBO<\/a> about future seasons.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously reported, Season 3 jumps ahead five years with Cassie ( Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) married and living in the suburbs and Rue working off her debt to drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly). Levinson also has revealed that Jules (Hunter Schafer) is in art school and Maddy (Alexa Demie) is working at a talent agency in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, Zendaya told me that \u201cit was a whirlwind\u201d<\/a> filming the third season. \u201cI did what I do in eight months in like four months,\u201d she said at the Los Angeles premiere of \u201cThe Drama.\u201d \u201cIt was like trying to get eight episodes in at once. It just flew by me.\u201d<\/p>\n
