Aubrey Plaza is expecting her first child with her partner, fellow actor Chris Abbott, People<\/a> reported on Tuesday. A source close to the couple said \u201cthey feel very blessed,\u201d calling it a \u201cbeautiful surprise after an emotional year.\u201d<\/p>\n Up until the pregnancy announcement, it was not publicly known that Plaza and Abbott were in a relationship; it\u2019s unclear how long they\u2019ve been together. Abbott, who\u2019s best known for playing Charlie in Girls, is currently starring in a Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman. He has acted alongside Plaza twice \u2014 onscreen in the 2020 movie Black Bear and onstage in a 2023 Off Broadway production of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea. In a joint New York Times<\/a> interview about the play in 2023, the two praised each other as scene partners. \u201cWe\u2019re both unafraid to be ugly and weird and strange,\u201d Abbott said of her.<\/p>\n In January 2025, Plaza\u2019s husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena<\/a>, died by suicide. The two had separated<\/a> a few months earlier, in September 2024.
