OOLTEWAH, Tenn. \u2014 A new inpatient rehabilitation hospital is coming to Ooltewah as local health care leaders move to expand services for patients recovering from serious illness and injury.<\/p>\n
CommonSpirit – Memorial Hospital and Lifepoint Rehabilitation broke ground Wednesday on a new 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital on Mountain View Road in Ooltewah. <\/p>\n
The CommonSpirit – Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital is expected to open to patients next spring.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe recognize a profound and growing need for comprehensive rehabilitation services, especially in this part of Hamilton County,\u201d says Janelle Reilly, market president for CommonSpirit. \u201cBy building a space wholly dedicated to the delivery of rehabilitation care, we can better help our patients return to their homes and families with greater strength and functional capability following illness or injury.\u201d <\/p>\n
The hospital will provide care for adults who have experienced a loss of function or disability due to stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic surgery, amputation and other conditions.<\/p>\n
The facility is trained to create a therapeutic environment for patients and will include leading-edge amenities and adaptive units, including 12 beds dedicated to treating patients with acquired brain injuries, multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums, a specialized \u201cactivities of daily living\u201d suite, and outdoor courtyards designed to encourage patient movement and activity.<\/p>\n
Upon opening, Lifepoint Rehabilitation will manage day-to-day operations.
