As ocean temperatures warm, they instinctually migrate towards breeding grounds around the world, including areas of the Caribbean. Female whales typically gestate for about 11.5 months and usually give birth to a single calf, who then spends around a year with their mother before setting out on their own.<\/p>\n
<img alt=\"Humpback whale breaching water surface\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"rounded-lg\" style=\"color:transparent\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/74d4a870c9f9a1548c61fc5a892f6d2a.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n
Pregnant humpback whales will typically gestate for 11-12 months before giving birth.
