Two teens were arrested after a foot chase through suburban Brisbane ended with one of them jumping a fence into a well appointed patio of cactus plants. <\/p>\n
Queensland police alleged the two boys had committed “multiple offences” between March 28 and 30 across the city’s south. <\/p>\n
At around 2.30pm the duo were spotted in Marsden, prompting a foot chase. <\/p>\n
One of the boys, aged 17, jumped over a nearby fence in an attempt to get away from police. <\/p>\n
He landed on a cactus, sustaining minor injuries from the barbs. <\/p>\n
Bodycam footage shared by police showed the moment he was handcuffed. One of the officers could be heard saying there were “at least” 30 spines stuck in his legs.<\/p>\n
Queensland police also alleged that, during the chase, a bag containing keys for 10 vehicles and a small amount of cannabis was tossed aside by the alleged offender. <\/p>\n
The other teen, aged 16, allegedly ran into a nearby property during his attempted escape, but was arrested shortly after with the help of a resident. <\/p>\n
The 17-year-old was charged with 11 counts of attempted enter dwelling and commit and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and wilful damage.<\/p>\n
He was remanded in custody and was due to appear in the Brisbane Children’s Court on May 11.<\/p>\n
