Global K-pop group BTS traded polished interviews for fiery chaos as they appeared on YouTube talk show \u201cHot Ones\u201d Thursday, taking on progressively spicier chicken wings while fielding questions from host Sean Evans.<\/p>\n
The seven members started off composed, answering questions about their music and global success with the ease of seasoned performers. That didn\u2019t last long. As the sauces got hotter, their reactions became harder to hide, with coughing, occasional shouting and calls for milk.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can feel the spice coming,\u201d Suga said, as the group passed level seven and reacted by rolling their tongues and shouting. J-Hope and Jin stood up and began \u201cwalking off\u201d and \u201cdancing out\u201d the heat after taking a bite of level eight.<\/p>\n
Evans continued the interview with questions such as, \u201cWho in the group is the best chef?\u201d \u201cMost likely to miss the tour bus because they\u2019re still getting ready?\u201d and \u201cLeast likely to make it to the final wing on \u2018Hot Ones?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
The members took an ice cream break before moving on to the final two levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis should be prohibited by law,\u201d RM said after taking a bite of the level 10 wing.<\/p>\n
The episode set a record for the series, with BTS becoming the first full K-pop group to appear together and the largest number of wings prepared, 80 in total.<\/p>\n
The group leaned on each other through the heat, joking, cheering and sometimes teasing whoever seemed to be struggling most, with members reaching for drinks, fanning their mouths and reacting in real time to each new level of spice.<\/p>\n
Viewers were amused, with the video drawing close to one million views within three hours.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey lasted longer than I expected,\u201d one commenter wrote. \u201cThis is pure chaos,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wondered if they would be able to be as deeply thoughtful with the questions as usual, or if the language barrier and sheer huge amount of people would make it more difficult. Sure enough, as thoughtful as ever,\u201d one comment read.
