\n\tYou can tell the pop star started her career in acting because one thing about her is that she\u2019s going to deliver absolute cinema when it comes to her music videos. And the Coachella headliner also seems to love a storyline, because her videos released in recent years are all subtly connected one way or another, starting with \u201cEspresso,\u201d which dropped in April 2024, to her just-released music video for \u201cHouse Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tIn addition to the videos\u2019 creative link, fans have also pointed out one other interesting pattern in most of her videos: at least one man always seems to die. The trend started with the 2023 music video for \u201cFeather\u201d and has been a recurrent theme ever since.<\/p>\n
\n\tBelow, The Hollywood Reporter is breaking down how all her music videos since the Short N\u2019 Sweet era are all connected in one way or another.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter seemed to start connecting her music video storylines with her 2024 hit song \u201cEspresso,\u201d the song that launched her into global pop superstardom.<\/p>\n
\n\tAt the end of the track\u2019s respective video, which features a retro-themed, summer beach day, Carpenter gets arrested after hijacking a man\u2019s boat and taking his credit card.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter her arrest, Carpenter does in fact land herself in jail, as seen at the beginning of the \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d music video. But she isn\u2019t behind bars for too long though, getting quickly bailed out. When she picks up her belongings after, the black sunglasses that she wears in the \u201cEspresso\u201d video also appear to be in the bag.<\/p>\n
\n\tIn the \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d video, Carpenter sparks a romance with another criminal played by her then-boyfriend actor\u00a0Barry Keoghan. Featuring a \u201cBonnie and Clyde\u201d style narrative, the video follows Carpenter picking up her bad boy partner up from jail after he keeps getting arrested for his various criminal acts.<\/p>\n
\n\tAt the end, Carpenter is seen taking control, handcuffing Keoghan to a chair and taping his mouth shut. But before abandoning him there, she leaves him with one last kiss.<\/p>\n
\n\tCause of death: Carpenter got back to her killing ways in this video, but had Keoghan do her dirty work. He seemingly kills a man during his bank robbery. <\/p>\n

\n\tIt must have been one memorable kiss in the \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d music video, because in the next video for \u201cTaste,\u201d Carpenter seems to have kept the piece of lipstick-stained tape as a souvenir.<\/p>\n
\n\tAt the beginning of the video, a whole bunch of weapons are sprawled out on her bed. Among them is a pink teddy bear with the tape covering its mouth, similar to Keoghan.<\/p>\n
\n\tCarpenter doesn\u2019t have time to reminisce though, as she has other business to take care of. In the video, she\u2019s seen fighting with another woman, played by Jenna Ortega, over their shared love interest. Featuring over-the-top, gory, comedic violence, the video pays homage to the 1992 film\u00a0Death Becomes Her, with the two women ultimately realizing the man isn\u2019t worth fighting over, and they decide to join forces.<\/p>\n
\n\tBut don\u2019t worry, Carpenter didn\u2019t forget about Keoghan.<\/p>\n
\n\tCause of death: Ortega accidentally slices their shared lover with a chainsaw, thinking it\u2019s Carpenter, and he collapses in a pool and dies.<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter enlisted the help of Dolly Parton in the music video for her re-recorded version of her hit song \u201cPlease Please Please.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tIn the footage, the two women appear to be on a road strip together in a pickup truck. However, it\u2019s not just any road trip. Toward the end of the video, it\u2019s revealed that a man \u2014 who is wearing the same clothing as Keoghan in the original \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d film \u2014 is tied up in the bed of the truck with a sack over his head.<\/p>\n
\n\tAt one point, a cop car with its lights on comes up behind Carpenter and Parton\u2019s truck, but they\u2019re relieved when they realize the officer isn\u2019t after them. So they continue happily on their road trip, but their smiles and laughter won\u2019t last forever.<\/p>\n
\t\u201cManchild\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe friendship appears to fizzle at the beginning of \u201cManchild,\u201d as the music video starts with Carpenter being thrown out of a car as it\u2019s headed down a long stretch of road.<\/p>\n
\n\tAfter the singer collects herself, the video depicts a satirical road trip that sees Carpenter hitchhiking across the American West and encountering various childish and incompetent men who she deems \u201cmanchildren\u201d (see the headline, wink wink).<\/p>\n
\n\tAt the end of the video, she\u2019s seen hopping in one last vehicle that takes off into the distance. Hopefully, whoever is at the wheel is a safe driver.<\/p>\n
\n\tCause of death: Almost all of the \u201cmanchildren\u201d in the music video met a brutal end, from one sending his car off a cliff to another\u2019s truck exploding, to Carpenter shooting up another car.<\/p>\n

\n\tTragically, the commute was cut short as Carpenter\u2019s music video for \u201cTears\u201d starts with a car wreck. Thankfully, Carpenter survived the crash.<\/p>\n
\n\tAfter getting up and collecting herself, she finds an old house in the woods. Once Carpenter enters, she realizes it\u2019s a campy, haunted house that\u2019s a cinematic tribute to\u00a0The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Colman Domingo, dressed in drag, also stars in the video as a Frank-N-Furter-inspired character.<\/p>\n
\n\tAt the end of \u201cTears,\u201d when Carpenter realized the guy driving the car also survived the wreck at the beginning, she references her long-running pattern of man-killing, saying, \u201cWait, no. You died earlier, I thought.\u201d The guy replied, \u201cBabe, what are you talking about?\u201d As Carpenter replied: \u201cIt\u2019s a thing. Someone has to die every video. I\u2019m sorry. We\u2019ll always remember you though.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThat\u2019s when Carpenter slips off her white stiletto heel\u00a0and slings it at the man, piercing him in the heart and killing him.<\/p>\n

\n\tHope you didn\u2019t forget about the white heel because in her new \u201cHouse Tour\u201d video, Carpenter steps out of a car at the beginning, wearing a blood-soaked stiletto.<\/p>\n
\n\tBut she quickly gets rid of any evidence, slipping into a new pair of red pumps for the rest of the video. Also starring Margaret Qualley (who co-directed the music video with Carpenter) and Madelyn Cline, the video was inspired by The Bling Ring and sees the trio, disguised as the \u201cPretty Girl Clean-Up Crew,\u201d robbing and ransacking a Hollywood mansion.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe girls appeared to get away just before the cops arrived, but on their way out, Carpenter didn\u2019t forget to run over a man with their pink van during their escape.<\/p>\n
\n\tYou\u2019ll just have to stay tuned to see what Carpenter has up her sleeve for her next music video.<\/p>\n
