The tow truck was still there,&#8221; Lin said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The front window and the wall &#8230; have all been smashed. The interior was also a mess.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said a counter in the shop had been shunted off its original location.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/4JQE2N7_IMG_0797_JPG.jpeg\" width=\"1050\" height=\"1400\" alt=\"A car drove into Ming Xing Fast Food in Glendene, west Auckland just before 10pm, Thursday, 9 April 2026.\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"photo-captioned__information\">\nThe car that drove into a takeaway outlet in West Auckland.<br \/>\nPhoto: Supplied\n<\/p>\n<p>Police said they were called to the single-vehicle crash on Great North Road at around 9:50pm in which a car had struck a store.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The shop was closed at the time, and there were no reports of injuries,&#8221; a police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the crash.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lin said he couldn&#8217;t figure out how the vehicle managed to strike his store, as it wasn&#8217;t close to any sharp turning point.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We probably can&#8217;t operate normally for a month,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>He said he was communicating with his insurance provider and would only know how significant the losses he faced would be later.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There will be some loss as we won&#8217;t have any income and still must pay the mortgage and all sorts of costs,&#8221; he said. &#8220;It&#8217;s a headache for me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Police detained the driver on the night of the accident, Lin said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/4JQF5XD_takeaway_crash_3_jpeg.jpeg\" width=\"1050\" height=\"1400\" alt=\"A car drove into Ming Xing Fast Food in Glendene, west Auckland just before 10pm, Thursday, 9 April 2026.\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"photo-captioned__information\">\nWeiming Lin, owner of Ming Xing Fast Food, said the accident messed up the interior of his store.<br \/>\nPhoto: Supplied\n<\/p>\n<p>Fire and Emergency northern shift manager Garreth Lewis said it responded to the crash with four fire trucks, leaving the scene after assisting police and the ambulance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were no persons trapped,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Hato Hone St John also attended but was not required on scene as it appeared to be a non-injury incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A car drove into Ming Xing Fast Food takeaway outlet in Glendene, West Auckland.
