Apple Wallet\u2019s car key feature is building momentum, with several major vehicle brands<\/a> recently launching support or about to. Now we can add another \u201ccoming soon\u201d brand to that list: Lexus.<\/p>\n Lexus adding Apple Wallet car key support this year, starting with 2026 ES<\/p>\n It\u2019s taken years for car keys in Apple Wallet to start truly taking off among automakers. But there\u2019s been a recent wave<\/a> of exciting new brands supported.<\/p>\n And it seems another is joining the list soon.<\/p>\n Lexus has been added to Apple\u2019s backend code for car keys, per MacRumors<\/a>. This means Apple is prepared for Lexus to support car keys on its end, even though the automaker isn\u2019t quite ready for the launch yet.<\/p>\n This corroborates a recent Carscoops report<\/a> that said the 2026 Lexus ES would soon join the Toyota RAV4 among vehicles under Toyota ownership that support what they call \u201cenhanced digital key\u201d technology.<\/p>\n It\u2019s unclear if any other Lexus vehicles are planned for support yet, or if current cars on the road will get the update via new software.<\/p>\n But Lexus is a big get for Apple\u2019s car key feature, especially because it wasn\u2019t included in the list of 13 upcoming new vehicle brands<\/a> Apple touted last June.<\/p>\n And once a major brand starts supporting car keys in Apple Wallet on one vehicle, it\u2019s pretty typical for support to roll out to more new vehicles over time.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s our full guide on vehicle brands<\/a> that currently support Apple Wallet car keys.<\/p>\n How important is Apple Wallet car key support to you in choosing your next vehicle?
