Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to embark on their highly publicized trip to Australia whether the royal family likes it or not.<\/p>\n

Before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrive Down Under next week, royal expert Robert Jobson \u2014 who penned multiple books on the royal family \u2014 told Page Six<\/a> in an article published Friday, April 10, \u201cI\u2019m sure [Buckingham Palace] would prefer that Harry and Meghan weren\u2019t going, but there\u2019s not a lot they can do about it. They have no control.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it\u2019s been widely reported that the Spare author, 41, will take part in private business and philanthropic engagements<\/a>, Jobson added, \u201cThere will undoubtedly be a sense of confusion about what Harry and Meghan are there for \u2026 this trip may stick in the gullet of the palace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the As Ever founder, 44, will take part in a \u201cGirl\u2019s Weekend\u201d retreat<\/a> hosted with the Her Best Life podcast that will be held from April 17 to April 19 at the InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach.<\/p>\n

The retreat promises<\/a> \u201cmeaningful speakers\u201d and \u201ca gala dinner\u201d featuring an \u201cin-person conversation with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, journalist Rob Shuter reported in his Naughty But Nice Substack<\/a> that the duchess has been guaranteed a $1 million appearance fee for the upcoming \u201cGirl\u2019s Weekend\u201d retreat. Tickets come in two packages<\/a>, with the VIP Experience costing $3,199 per person.<\/p>\n

According to 7News Australia<\/a> journalist Ariana Pezeshki, she was allegedly told she would be refunded for her ticket because the team behind the event learned she worked in media.<\/p>\n

Still, a palace source told Page Six that the parents of two \u2014 who will not bring children<\/a> Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, along with them \u2014 \u201cyearn for the catnip of attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the publication, Meghan and Harry will tour Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney where they allegedly plan to meet with sick children and mental health charities as well as the Australian branch of Harry\u2019s Invictus Games.<\/p>\n

Royal author Robert Hardman also said, per Page Six, that their upcoming Australia trip \u2014 which is their first time back since 2018, before they stepped down as senior working royals \u2014 \u201cdoes get confusing<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hardman added, \u201cIf they are traveling as celebrities \u2014 which is what they are \u2014 that\u2019s fine, but if there is any royal or official apparatus then that\u2019s going to invite criticism.\u201d<\/p>\n
