GREEN BAY (WLUK) — A new interactive sculpture is swinging along the banks of the Fox River in downtown Green Bay.<\/p>\n
The city of Green Bay and Green Bay Public Arts Commission unveiled the new installation Friday morning.<\/p>\n
The sculpture is green in honor of Green Bay, and evokes the shape of a boat to represent the nearby water. Corrugated metal is a nod to Green Bay’s papermaking business. It includes swings that are open to the public for its enjoyment.<\/p>\n
“This installation adds a playful, engaging element to Green Bay’s riverfront and reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public spaces through art,” city officials said in a news release.<\/p>\n
The sculpture, created by Minnesota artist Greg Mueller, is near the Neville Public Museum.<\/p>\n
“The city has been great to work with,” said Mueller. “We wanted to get it installed last summer, we had some delays with corrugated metal… But we got it in last… right before Christmas and it’s great to come back now in the spring with people can interact with it, use it.”<\/p>\n
