The James Bond<\/a> reboot has received a big casting update.<\/p>\n

Last year, Amazon MGM Studios<\/a> made a deal with Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to obtain full creative control of the James Bond franchise. Shortly after that deal was made, it was announced that Denis Villeneuve<\/a> would be directing the next 007<\/a> movie.<\/p>\n

Since then, there\u2019s been nearly non-stop rumors about who might be playing the next Bond. Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner, and Harris Dickinson are some of the more common names floating around on the internet; however, mostly everything seems to be speculation at this time, as there\u2019s been no formal announcement as to who will be picking up the mantle from Daniel Craig.<\/p>\n

What is the James Bond casting update?<\/p>\n

Per Variety<\/a>, it has now come to light that Louis Partridge<\/a> is \u201cin contention\u201d for the role of 007, with the outlet specifically noting that this \u201ccontention\u201d is \u201cbeyond simply being put on a bookmaker\u2019s list.\u201d<\/p>\n

The casting is not official, yet, as the article also notes, \u201cAs with almost anything regarding Hollywood\u2019s most famous superspy that\u2019s not come directly out of the mouths of its key creative team, it\u2019s important to note that this is no more than speculation. Attempts to confirm with Partridge\u2019s reps or Amazon MGM Studios have been as predictably futile as any Bond villain\u2019s wildly-complicated plans for global domination.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Partridge rumor does, however, align with widespread chatter that the incoming 007 will be much younger than previous Bonds. Following a (speculative, of course) report in Deadline earlier this year, the word \u2018fresh-faced\u2019 has done the rounds, and many in the industry\u00a0Variety\u00a0has spoken to seem to be sure the age is being dialed down a few notches.\u201d<\/p>\n

If Partridge, who is 23, does get the part, he will be the youngest Bond ever, second to George Lazenby, who was 29 when he filmed On Her Majesty\u2019s Secret Service.<\/p>\n

Partridge plays Viscount Tewkesbury in the Enola Holmes movies and Edward Guinness in the House of Guinness show. He\u2019ll soon be seen playing George Wickham in the Pride and Prejudice Netflix<\/a> show, while his filmography also includes 2015\u2019s Pan, 2017\u2019s Paddington 2, 2022\u2019s The Lost Girls, 2024\u2019s Argylle, and 2025\u2019s Jay Kelly.<\/p>\n

A release date for the new James Bond movie has not been announced.<\/p>\n
