Noah Wyle<\/a> is setting the record straight on his career before ER.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with Variety<\/a> published on Thursday (April 9), the 54-year-old Emmy-winning actor, who currently stars as Dr. Michael \u201cRobby\u201d Robinavitch on The Pitt, addressed the long-standing rumor that he auditioned for the role of Ross Gellar on Friends<\/a> in the early \u201990s.<\/p>\n

Keep reading to find out more\u2026\u201cMy memory is a little spotty, but I would remember auditioning for Friends,\u201d Noah said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a little snobbery about doing TV,\u201d he admitted.<\/p>\n

Also in the interview, Noah looked back at his finding his way onto to TV with ER, which he initially mistook for a movie when he first received the two-hour pilot script.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it was a movie, so I auditioned for it,\u201d he recalled. \u201cWhen I found out it was a show, I didn\u2019t really care, because I thought, \u2018It\u2019s so good, they\u2019re going to cancel it. There\u2019s no way this is going to last.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I kind of turned my nose up at the idea of a television career, which is ironic, because that\u2019s exactly what I\u2019ve enjoyed for the last 30 years,\u201d Noah continued. \u201cI love what I thought would be constricting. I found I love the consistency, and what I thought would get boring, I\u2019ve managed to find infinite complexity. And instead of having variety, I\u2019ve found family.\u201d <\/p>\n
