There’s unfinished business for Dexter: Resurrection character Charley Brown, as it has been confirmed that Uma Thurman will be reprising the role in season 2.<\/p>\n

The former Special Ops operator, who then became head of security for billionaire Leon Prater, decided to turn on her employer after meeting Dexter. She ended season 1 departing New York City with her mother to start afresh.<\/p>\n

We don’t know why she is back for season 2, and whether she’ll be a friend or foe to our serial killer protagonist.<\/p>\n

The show announced a big piece of new casting last week, with none other than Succession’s Brian Cox joining the show<\/a> as retired serial killer Dam Frant, also known as The New York Ripper.<\/p>\n

The synopsis says that while the character is “no longer active as a killer”, he has “found a new way to live into his infamy by continuing to taunt the survivors of his long-ago murder spree”.<\/p>\n

Dexter: Resurrection has proven to be a hit so far, with a 95% positive score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> and a 9.0\/10 average user score on IMDb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“A bold, bloody, and brilliantly executed revival. It honors the original while carving out something new”, wrote one particularly enthusiastic fan<\/a>, who praised the “stacked” cast that includes Thurman’s “cool, lethal, and captivating”.<\/p>\n

But while this latest spin-off (the fourth Dexter show overall) is going from strength to strength, it was announced last year that prequel series Original Sin had been axed<\/a>, even though it had previously been greenlit for a second season.<\/p>\n

The show didn’t receive the same warm reception as the original show or Resurrection, sitting at 70% positive on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> from critic reviews.<\/p>\n

Dexter: Resurrection is available to stream now on Paramount+<\/a>, while season 2 does not currently have a release date. <\/p>\n
