Until now, most of the names being mentioned as potential candidates for the new James Bond are ones we\u2019ve been hearing about for a while.<\/p>\n

Callum Turner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jacob Elordi, and to a lesser extent Harris Dickinson have all been mentioned as potentials for many months now, with Turner seemingly the favourite.<\/p>\n

Now, a new name has entered the fray \u2013 Louis Partridge. The 23-year-old British actor has built up quite a resume in the past few years and is best known for his role as Viscount Tewkesbury, a potential love interest for Millie Bobby Brown\u2019s character in the \u201cEnola Holmes\u201d films.<\/p>\n

Other major roles include Alfonso Cuaron\u2019s \u201cDisclaimer\u201d where his character was the key to all the events that took place, Peter Pan in \u201cThe Lost Girls\u201d film in 2022, and the younger versions of Henry Cavill and Billy Crudup\u2019s characters in \u201cArgylle\u201d and \u201cJay Kelly\u201d respectively. He will soon be seen as Wickham in the new \u201cPride and Prejudice\u201d.<\/p>\n

Most recently, he\u2019s been playing Edward Guinness in Netflix\u2019s \u201cHouse of Guinness\u201d, a series created and penned by Steven Knight who is also penning the new Bond film. <\/p>\n

Variety<\/a> today is reporting that Partridge is in contention for the job and claim this goes well \u201cbeyond simply being put on a bookmaker\u2019s list\u201d. However, as this isn\u2019t from anyone involved in the key creative team, they advise \u201cthis is no more than speculation\u201d and attempts to confirm this have been futile.<\/p>\n

One difference is that Partridge is considerably younger than all the other candidates mentioned so far, who are either late 20s or mid-30s. Most of the Bond actors cast to date over the years have been in their 30s or 40s, but it is known that Amazon MGM Studios wants to go younger with the character.<\/p>\n

If this report has any truth, they\u2019re going considerably younger than expected \u2013 a producer telling the trade \u201cwriting a film to be led by a 23-year-old is completely different to writing one for a 36-year-old.\u201d <\/p>\n
