He said Marren was going to transition \u201cinto governance roles\u201d.<\/p>\n
Marren in 2022 told the Herald the Covid pandemic was akin to \u201cguerilla warfare\u201d where problems kept popping up.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the current chief commercial officer Jeremy O\u2019Brien has been appointed chief customer and digital officer.<\/p>\n
That was a newly-created role, although the next chief executive Nikhil Ravishankar is currently chief digital officer. <\/p>\n
O\u2019Brien will take up the new role on October 20, the same day Ravishankar takes over from Foran as chief executive.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was previously commercial director at TVNZ, where he led key aspects of the broadcaster\u2019s content streaming and digital transformation,\u201d Air NZ said.<\/p>\n
Scott Wilkinson will start as new chief commercial officer on October 7.<\/p>\n
The loyalty business will be added to his portfolio.<\/p>\n
Wilkinson has spent a decade at Qantas, where he had leadership roles across digital, customer experience, and commercial strategy.<\/p>\n
The airline said O\u2019Brien\u2019s permanent appointment to the leadership team, and Wilkinson\u2019s new responsibilities, should strengthen alignment across the company\u2019s commercial, customer, loyalty, marketing and digital functions.<\/p>\n
The personnel changes were also designed to support the broader leadership shift before Ravishankar\u2019s transition to chief executive.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, a former Air New Zealand chief executive, met Ravishankar at the airline\u2019s Hangar 4 unveiling last week.<\/p>\n
Luxon said running a relatively small airline was alwyas challenging but Air New Zealand would continue to grow. <\/p>\n
