The Rolling Stones<\/a>\u00a0have shared a taster of\u00a0new music\u00a0under the name The Cockroaches \u2013 check it out below.<\/p>\n

Rumours\u00a0have been circling in recent weeks that\u00a0the rock legends are planning on making an announcement of new music<\/a>, with cryptic posters being spotted around London.<\/p>\n

All of\u00a0the clues suggested that they would be using the alternative name The Cockroaches, an alias that\u00a0Mick Jagger<\/a>\u00a0and co. have used in the past to play secret shows, while QR codes have been taking fans to a website reading, \u201cWho\u00a0The\u00a0Fuck Are\u00a0The\u00a0Cockroaches?\u201d.<\/p>\n

On Friday\u00a0(April 10),\u00a0a teaser video was shared on an Instagram channel under the name thecockroaches2026, along with a caption that read simply \u201c64 & Counting\u201d, a reference to the number of years since the band\u00a0were\u00a0founded.<\/p>\n

In the video, an unidentified man wearing a \u201cWho\u00a0The\u00a0Fuck Are\u00a0The\u00a0Cockroaches?\u201d t-shirt puts on a white label 12\u201d record and sits\u00a0to\u00a0listen. The track opens with a\u00a0dirty blues electric guitar riff, and it cuts off just as the unmistakable sound of Jagger\u2019s voice sings, \u201cDo it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week,\u00a0The Times<\/a>\u00a0reported that the Stones\u2019 new single would be called \u2018Rough\u00a0And\u00a0Twisted\u2019 and would feature Jagger singing about driving \u201cdown a rough and twisted road all the way to Puerto Rico, where the tide ebbs\u00a0and flowers and you do feel that something sexual may be happening along the way\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou just took me to a flyblown town in the middle of nowhere\/ The smell was acrid and toxic\/ Couldn\u2019t breathe the air,\u201d Jagger is reported to sing on the track, and there is also a \u201ckiller riff\u201d and \u201ca rambunctious harmonica solo\u201d from the frontman.<\/p>\n

It has also been confirmed that this new track is the first single to be shared from a\u00a0Rolling Stones album\u00a0titled \u2018Foreign Tongues\u2019.\u00a0It would be their first since 2023\u2019s\u00a0Grammy<\/a>-winning \u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019<\/a>, their 25th studio album, and is expected to be released on July 10.<\/p>\n

Like \u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019 \u2013 which was their first since\u00a0the death of Charlie Watts<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the new record will see the Stones once again join forces with\u00a0Andrew Watt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Watt revealed last year that he had been\u00a0helping them make another album<\/a>, and guitarist Ronnie Wood himself later confirmed reports that new music was in the works \u2013 saying that it was done and set to arrive in 2026.<\/a><\/p>\n

The band\u00a0are\u00a0unlikely to announce a full tour anytime soon. Last year, they\u00a0confirmed that they scrapped plans for a UK and European stadium tour in 2026<\/a>, due to\u00a0Keith Richards <\/a>being unable to \u201ccommit\u201d to it.<\/p>\n

If they came to fruition, the gigs would have been the first tour dates from them since they went out on\u00a0their \u2018Hackney Diamonds\u2019 tour in the US in 2024<\/a>. They sold nearly a million tickets across those 20 dates and generated an estimated $235million (\u00a3185.1million) \u2013 making it to Number Six on the highest-grossing music world tours of that year<\/a>.<\/p>\n
