Chris Waller has taken the blame for Autumn Glow\u2019s Queen Elizabeth Stakes defeat on Saturday, stating he \u201csimply got her distance range wrong\u201d in an update posted to social media.<\/p>\n
The previously unbeaten mare started $1.40 but could only manage third behind Sir Delius and Lindermann in her first go at 2000 metres, copping her first defeat in 12 career starts.<\/p>\n
Waller confirmed that Autumn Glow had bounced through the run with no issues but confirmed she will now spell until the spring.<\/p>\n
\u201cAutumn Glow has come through yesterday\u2019s run well, which has been pleasing to see,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m disappointed for the horse, as she gave everything in the race, but I simply got her distance range wrong.<\/p>\n
\u201cI apologise to everyone for that \u2014 we\u2019ll accept defeat graciously and come back better. We will now look ahead to the spring, where Autumn Glow can shine again.<\/p>\n
