A Hamilton home destroyed by fire two weeks after its new owners moved in has now been listed for sale <\/a>\u201cas is, where is\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lodge listing agent Yvenna Yue told OneRoof that the modern house at 32 Glaisdale Crescent, in Flagstaff, was snapped up by first-time buyers in August last year for just over $1.3 million.<\/p>\n

The buyers were starting to feel at home when, during a quick trip to the shops, a fire erupted in the garage.<\/p>\n

Yue said the blaze had rendered the home uninhabitable. \u201cIt was their first home in New Zealand, and they really loved it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The couple have since received the insurance payout, but because they didn\u2019t want to take on a lengthy rebuild, they have decided to sell the property \u201cas is\u201d and buy another home.<\/p>\n

The four-bedroom home was built by Armstrong Homes in 2017 and was listed as an \u201curban oasis\u201d when it was on the market last year. Now it\u2019s anything but, with the windows boarded up, the property fenced off and the marketing describing it as a \u201cfire sale\u201d.<\/p>\n

Yue stated her clients were \u201cmoving on, and this property will be sold\u201d.<\/p>\n

She said the house was \u201ca compelling opportunity for those who know to unlock value\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe scale is right. The orientation is right. The bones are there,\u201d she wrote in the listing on OneRoof.<\/p>\n

The home\u2019s interior, from the roof cladding and structural framing to the flooring, joinery, plumbing and electrics, will need significant repairs. Most ceilings and walls have been removed, exposing the timber beams. <\/p>\n

The two bathrooms and kitchen have escaped demolition for now, while the covered portico with outdoor fireplace, heated in-ground pool and spa are in their original condition.<\/p>\n

Yue said the house could be a good renovation project for someone who wanted a home in a great location and didn\u2019t mind hard work.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great staycation home, and a savvy buyer will reap the rewards and return it to their former glory.\u201d<\/p>\n

The property, which is heading to auction, has a guide price of around $590,000.<\/p>\n
