Hamilton-based FTN Motion has revealed its newest model, the Streetdog XR.
\nThe XR replaces the Streetdog 80 in the company’s range, and features a range of improvements.
\nFTN Motion recently raised a further $2 million in funding to support its expansion into Australia.<\/p>\n

New Zealand electric motorcycle manufacturer FTN Motion has introduced the Streetdog XR, a more powerful version of\u00a0its original model<\/a> designed for urban commuting. Hand-built in the company\u2019s Hamilton workshop, the XR replaces the Streetdog 80<\/a> and features a top speed of 85km\/h with instant torque delivered via a rear hub motor.<\/p>\n

The design of the XR was influenced by customer feedback and includes several hardware updates, such as raised suspension, wider handlebars, and increased ground clearance. It is equipped with a 30 litre lockable storage compartment and a removable battery that can be charged using a standard wall outlet. The XR offers an initial range of 60 to 80 kilometres, which can be doubled with the addition of a second battery.<\/p>\n

\nThe XR features a removable battery, with the option of a second battery to extend the range to 140km.<\/p>\n

While the Streetdog XR requires a motorcycle license to operate thanks to its higher outputs, the Streetdog 50, that has a top speed of 50km\/h and can be ridden with a standard car license, has also been updated with the same improvements introduced on the XR.<\/p>\n

The launch of the new XR model follows a $2 million capital raise intended to support the company\u2019s expansion into the Australian market and further its manufacturing capabilities<\/p>\n

The company is offering an initial production run of the XR at a special introductory price of $9,990, while the updated Streetdog 50 is priced at $8,990.
