{"id":376823,"date":"2026-04-13T04:26:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-13T04:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/376823\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T04:26:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T04:26:09","slug":"new-zealand-fuel-reserves-remain-at-normal-levels-despite-us-war-on-iran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/376823\/","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand fuel reserves remain at normal levels despite US war on Iran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">New Zealand\u2019s fuel supplies remain at healthy levels with no sign of disruption, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">The latest figures, current as of 11:59pm on Wednesday 8 April, show the country has 59.7 days of petrol, 49.1 days of diesel and 50.7 days of jet fuel available across all sources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">That fuel is either already on New Zealand soil, aboard ships within our Exclusive Economic Zone, or on vessels at sea up to three weeks out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">An MBIE spokesperson said the situation was stable and there was nothing to suggest that would change.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48744\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Screenshot-2026-04-13-at-3.34.00-PM.png.webp.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1760\" height=\"892\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">\u201cThere is currently no indication of fuel supply disruption, and fuel continues to flow normally into New Zealand,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">\u201cCurrent fuel levels are broadly in line with normal levels before recent global disruptions, and fuel companies continue to report regularly to officials. There are currently no concerns about future fuel shipments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal leading-[1.7]\">Of the petrol supply, 25.6 days worth is already in the country, with a further 13.6 days on ships within New Zealand waters and 20.5 days on vessels still at sea.
