The\u00a0Denza Z9GT<\/a> will join the brand’s New Zealand lineup in the third quarter of this year. The super-wagon – think of it as BYD’s answer to the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo\/Sport Turismo<\/a> – boasts up to 850kW from its triple-motor powertrain and can hit 100km\/h in just 2.7 seconds.<\/p>\n

Denza, BYD’s luxury\/performance brand, says it has also achieved 800km-plus range under Chinese-market CLTC testing – albeit a much less stringent regime than the WLTP protocol used here.<\/p>\n

But the Z9GT will also be the first vehicle sold in NZ to feature\u00a0BYD\u2019s next-generation Blade Battery 2.0 technology and “Flash” ultrafast charging<\/a>, which has 1500kW peak capacity and is capable of charging the car from 10-97% in just 9 minutes.<\/p>\n

Flash charging requires bespoke charging stations of course; Denza says the first sites will be operational at selected dealers by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

\nZ9 GT features new platform and chassis technology, including air suspension.<\/p>\n

The Z9GT rides on the brand\u2019s new e3 platform. It will be the first vehicle to feature advanced DiSus-A air\u00a0 suspension, which works together with e3 to control the chassis. For example, the onboard software can manage a tyre blowout at highway speeds in milliseconds, by actively controlling power delivery, steering behaviour and braking at the same time.<\/p>\n

Interior highlights include Nappa leather seating with massage, ventilation and extended leg rests, 50-inch augmented reality head-up display, Devialet premium audio, ambient lighting with 128 colour selections, and a built-in refrigerator.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Further specification and pricing will be announced closer to launch.<\/p>\n
