Families who have received financial help from\u00a0The Twinkie Foundation now have access to\u00a0mental health coverage\u00a0thanks to a partnership with\u00a0two local mental health service providers, ML Counselling Services (Meaghan Lambert, MSW, RSW) along with Motus Counselling Service.<\/p>\n
Those who qualify include\u00a0parents, guardians, and siblings in the immediate family who need support with the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tIndividual counselling
\n\tCouples counselling
\n\tChildren and Teen counselling
\n\tTrauma and loss
\n\tMarital strain
\n\tFinancial stress
\n\tShift in roles \/changing family dynamics
\n\tWork\/life imbalance
\n\tFeelings of isolation
\n\tIssues unique to siblings including anxiety, jealousy\/resentment, adjustment disorder, feelings of invisibility

The Twinkie Foundation broadens the help provided for families who have received financial assistance for medical travel.<\/p>\n
Effective April 13, 2026, The Twinkie Foundation has been approved to provide mental health coverage for families who have previously utilized The Foundation for medical travel. Over the years, we\u2019ve witnessed the turmoil that a medical illness or condition can have on the family as a whole. We\u2019re fortunate to further assist these families in dealing with any stress or trauma through linking them to local mental health service providers.<\/p>\n
Qualifying individuals would include parents, guardians, and siblings in the immediate family. An allowance will be provided per family up to a select dollar value to help those who require additional mental health services over and above those provided by any other source.<\/p>\n
