Image: Mark Horsburgh<\/p>\n<p>The category officially launched a parity investigation on Sunday after both the Camaro and Toyota Supra triggered the new-for-2026 system.<\/p>\n<p>Supercars on Tuesday confirmed no changes would be forthcoming for the Toyota and has now given the green light to Chevrolet\u2019s changes.<\/p>\n<p>GM and homologation squad Team 18 had worked on an upgrade package ahead of Taupo, designed to shift the car\u2019s aerodynamic balance.<\/p>\n<p>Supercars confirmed the changes in a note issued to its Commission late on Thursday, leaving GM teams to upgrade their cars ahead of Friday\u2019s track action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the necessary analysis and consultation with the HTs, Supercars have determined a change be made to the Chevrolet Camaro to shift its aerodynamic balance rearwards making it similar to the Ford Mustang and Toyota Supra,\u201d read the note.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis aerodynamic difference was evident in the Windtunnel results and now further substantiated with vehicle track data.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/4cq9M8W\" style=\"color:#f06d25;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Click here <\/a>to see what it takes to build the Gold Coast street circuit <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe changes are a reduction in front splitter leading edge, rear wing position rearward\/upwards and reduced rear wing angle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe change will be made for this weekend\u2019s ITM Christchurch Super 440.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurther testing and CFD will be undertaken in the coming weeks and you are reminded Supercars reserve the right to reverse, revise or modify the changes for the next two rounds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/297417\" rel=\"nofollow sponsored noopener\" data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/297417.gif\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Brodie Kostecki&#8217;s Ford Mustang, Ryan Wood&#8217;s Toyota Supra, and David Reynolds&#8217; Chevrolet Camaro.
