Heavily scrutinised halves Sam Walker and Daly Cherry-Evans looked as comfortable together as they have all season in Perth but in an ominous warning for their rivals back-rower Angus Crichton is adamant the Roosters are nowhere near their best.<\/p>\n
With Walker and DCE scoring three tries between them and the No.7 laying on two more, the Roosters stormed back from 16-0 down to win 34-22 and move to eighth on the ladder.<\/p>\n
Back on home soil on Sunday to face the Knights, Crichton said the Roosters were ‘working every day to make sure we are getting closer and closer to our best’.<\/p>\n
“We are taking steps in the right direction to be the team we want to be but we are not even close,” said Crichton, who is still buzzing after the birth of his son Sullivan on Easter Sunday.<\/p>\n

Daly Cherry-Evans 2nd Try<\/p>\n
“Getting those guys [Sam and Daly] in the right spots at the right time allows for us forward to tow onto the ball and really threaten the line and I think we are just starting to get into that.<\/p>\n
“We’re not clapping our hands or waving our arms, we are not happy with where we are yet but we are definitely building into a more resilient team.<\/p>\n
“We still have so many areas we need to keep growing in and Sunday will be a good test.”<\/p>\n

First Take: Roosters v Knights<\/p>\n
Having won three of their past four after a first-up hammering at the hands of the Warriors, the boys from Bondi have three matches in a row at Allianz Stadium, with the traditional Anzac Day clash against the Dragons and a Round 9 showdown against premiers Brisbane to follow the Knights game.<\/p>\n
Crichton lines up on the same edge as returning Knights gun Dylan Brown on Sunday, with his good mate Sandon Smith patrolling the other side of the field.<\/p>\n
Although he won’t be directly opposite Smith he said there will still be plenty of banter in the lead-up.<\/p>\n
“I have a lot of time for Sandon. I had a good time playing outside him when he was here,” Crichton said.<\/p>\n
“They are obviously playing some good footy at the minute and this weekend will be a really great test for us.<\/p>\n
