{"id":383080,"date":"2026-04-16T21:01:24","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T21:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/383080\/"},"modified":"2026-04-16T21:01:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T21:01:24","slug":"conserve-water-notice-lifted-in-titahi-bay-after-burst-pipe-fixed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/383080\/","title":{"rendered":"Conserve water notice lifted in Titahi Bay after burst pipe fixed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Drinking water has been restored to residents in Wellington&#8217;s Titahi Bay this afternoon after a water pipe burst earlier today. <\/p>\n<p>Shortly after 10.30am, Wellington Water said crews were responding to the burst drinking water pipe on Piko Street, and the water was turned off for some streets. <\/p>\n<p>Residents in the surrounding areas were also urged to conserve water while repairs were completed. <\/p>\n<p>In an update just before midday, a Wellington Water spokesperson said the water had since been restored. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Please run a cold tap for a few minutes to clear any air pockets or cloudy water from their pipes before using hot taps, dishwashers and washing machines,&#8221; the spokesperson said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The team will be in the area for a while yet backfilling the excavation and cleaning up the site.
