In 2023, she received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldnet.com\/2023\/10\/23\/everett-northshore-art-educators-awarded-for-empowering-students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">an Art Educator of the Year award<\/a> from the Washington Art Education Association.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes after Tuohy, an Everett City Council member and executive director at the Shack Art Center for over three decades, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldnet.com\/2025\/12\/01\/director-of-everetts-schack-art-center-announces-retirement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said in December 2025 that she would step down from the role in <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldnet.com\/2025\/12\/01\/director-of-everetts-schack-art-center-announces-retirement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">May<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release Wednesday, the nonprofit wrote that Alburn\u2019s background in arts education, special events and fundraising showed she has \u201ca deep committment to supporting artists and expanding access to the arts for diverse audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Raedle as our new Executive Director of the Schack Art Center. Her vision, experience, and passion for our mission make her an ideal leader for this next chapter,\u201d wrote Rich White, the president of the nonprofit\u2019s board of directors. \u201cThe Board has full confidence in her ability to build on our strong foundation and guide the organization toward an impactful future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the release, Alburn said accepting the new role was \u201cexciting and deeply meaningful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The arts are essential to a thriving community, and I\u2019m honored to be part of an organization with such a long, dedicated history,\u201d she wrote in the press release. \u201cI look forward to continuing to steward Schack forward, expanding access to the arts, and creating more opportunities for artists and our community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The nonprofit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldnet.com\/opinion\/editorial-for-50-years-schack-art-center-there-for-creation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">was founded in 1974<\/a> as the Arts Council of Snohomish County before changing its name to the Schack Art Center in 2009.
