\n\tSupriya Ganesh<\/a>\u2018s Dr. Mohan said her goodbyes(ish) on the Season 2 finale of \u201cThe Pitt.\u201d After spending most of her shift butting heads with Noah Wyle<\/a>\u2018s Dr. Robby, the pair finally have a civilized discussion during the finale, as she admits, \u201cMaybe I will go into geriatrics.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHe responded that it was a smart choice before sharing that he, too, had to reevaluate when his life didn\u2019t turn out as planned. Ultimately, the two bury the hatchet, as she tells him, \u201cHave a good trip. Please be safe. We need you here, even if you can be a dick sometimes. Good luck.\u201d He replies, \u201cYou too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVariety broke the news earlier this month that Ganesh will not be returning <\/a>as Dr. Mohan, and Ayesha Harris (who plays night shift resident Dr. Parker Ellis) will be promoted to series regular. But creator R. Scott Gemmill is still figuring out any other changes that could be coming as they get into planning next season.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re still trying to figure that out ourselves. But we\u2019ll definitely see some new faces. That\u2019s part of the fun of the show \u2014 seeing people cycle through,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

\n\tSo, does that mean we could see Mohan again in the future?<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t think so, but you never know,\u201d Gemmill says. \u201cIf there\u2019s a good reason and a good story or if the show demands it, if the storylines demand it, for sure. We\u2019re still in some of the early stages of figuring out Season 3.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDr. Al-Hashimi\u2019s job security is also up in the air with her revelation that she had two seizures during the shift. But it\u2019s likely Sepideh Moafi will be back in Season 3 as Gemmill notes, \u201cWe hope to explore some stuff with her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGemmill and Wyle recently opened up to Variety about the news of Ganesh\u2019s exit<\/a>, which left viewers surprised.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s an inevitability that\u2019s going to happen every season with this show because as writers we\u2019re hard pressed to figure out what a lapse of time we can have and keep most of the ensemble together realistically,\u201d Wyle said. \u201cEmergency rooms have a high revolving door. As always, we try to bring in new characters or promote from within as we go through these cast changes and try to keep the storylines fresh, but obviously, Supriya has been a huge part of our show since the beginning. Dr. Mohan is a beloved character, and I love playing with her and working with Supriya, and we wish her all the best in her next endeavors, and we\u2019re going to miss her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGemmill added that the turnaround is the \u201cnature of the show\u201d due to its structure. \u201cUnfortunately, the way the medical profession works, you come in, you learn, you move on, and we want to try and be as truthful to that process as possible,\u201d he told Variety. \u201cSo we\u2019re going to turn over our cast.
