A driver was left dumbfounded after witnessing a car speed toward an oncoming ute while overtaking a truck north of Dunedin yesterday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Daryl Craigie was driving at Pigeon Flat, north of Dunedin, on State Highway 1 yesterday at about 3.10pm when he witnessed the near miss.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Following them prior, you sort of knew that something stupid was about to happen eventually, the way they were driving, but it was far worse than I had actually expected.”<\/p>\n
The video shows a car overtake a truck while a ute approaches in the oncoming lane.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The ute is forced to take evasive action as the car squeezes between it and the truck before the car returns to its rightful lane.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It was just genuine confusion of what am I even witnessing right now,” Mr Craigie said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mr Craigie said he contacted the company that owns the ute with the video and number plate of the offending vehicle in case they wanted to take the incident further.\u00a0<\/p>\n
