\u201cThis concerning behaviour has been brought to the attention of police again, and we believe the same man is responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wannabe sugar daddy had been approaching women in Newtown, Mt Cook and central Wellington, McCarthy said. <\/p>\n

\u201cSince receiving reports in late 2025, this behaviour appears to have escalated, therefore police will be making further inquiries with this man and have not ruled out laying charges.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January, the Herald reported that the mysterious man was offering between $200 and $300 a week<\/a> in exchange for \u201cfriendship\u201d and \u201ccompanionship\u201d. <\/p>\n

One woman said she was \u201cbewildered\u201d by the note she received, while another described the behaviour as \u201cvery, very weird and icky\u201d.<\/p>\n

The notes handed out varied slightly in wording, but all of them claimed the man was \u201clonely\u201d and would \u201cspoil\u201d the receiver \u201crotten\u201d.<\/p>\n

One Wellington woman filed a restraining order application against the man<\/a> after he allegedly followed her home. She claimed his behaviour quickly became \u201csinister\u201d.<\/p>\n

Another woman alleged he made violent threats against her and made her feel \u201cisolated and cornered\u201d.<\/p>\n

Many women have shared their experiences with the man on social media, posting pictures of their notes and detailing his appearance so others could identify him.<\/p>\n

Holly Davies, 20, was approached by him on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

She told the Herald she was on her way home from babysitting and was waiting at a bus stop. <\/p>\n

She was on a phone call to her mother when the man entered the bus shelter and handed her a note.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018No, I\u2019m good,\u2019 and he tried to reassure me he wouldn\u2019t want anything except for an online friendship in return. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I said, \u2018No, I\u2019m good\u2019 again, and he said to think about it, then I said \u2018No\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

She immediately realised who he was because the handwriting was similar to the notes she had seen other women receive. <\/p>\n

He was also wearing a \u201cbad toupee\u201d, which she recognised from descriptions of him posted on Facebook. <\/p>\n

The note he handed to Davies said: \u201cI am looking for a friend I can spoil rotten.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll make it worthwhile and buy you anything you want, even a brand new car!\u201d <\/p>\n

While the message closely matched previous notes, it was signed with a different name and phone number. <\/p>\n

Another Wellington woman was approached by the man on the same day and handed the same note. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy interaction with him was relatively harmless, but I have heard that he can be very aggressive if questioned, which I did not do as I was alone and decided listening for two minutes was safer than creating a scene,\u201d she posted on the Facebook page Vic Deals. <\/p>\n

Police are continuing to urge anybody who has had contact with the man to make a report by calling 105.<\/p>\n
