\n\tOn the day of his new album\u2019s release, Zayn Malik<\/a> shared that he was in the hospital and \u201cunexpectedly recovering\u201d after a health scare.<\/p>\n

\n\tPosting a photo of himself lying back in a hospital gown with monitors and an IV attached to his body, the singer wrote Friday (April 17) on his Instagram Story, \u201cTo my fans \u2013 Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBeen a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,\u201d he continued. \u201cHeartbroken that I can\u2019t see you all this week, I wouldn\u2019t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding. Thank you to all the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who had helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBillboard has reached out to Malik\u2019s reps for comment. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe news comes on the same day Konnakol \u2014 his first full-length since 2024\u2019s Room Under the Stairs \u2014 arrived on streaming services. It marks his fifth studio album since parting ways with One Direction in 2015. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFive solo albums now \u2014 I was just buzzing that I got to do the first one after [leaving] the band, [and] people seemed to care,\u201d he said on<\/a> Call Her Daddy in February. \u201cI\u2019m really proud of the progression and just the development and understanding of myself through my music.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMalik\u2019s previous four albums all charted on the Billboard 200<\/a>, with debut Mind of Mine reaching No. 1 on the tally in 2016.<\/p>\n
