Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner demanded $US7 million ($10 million) from Ray J after he allegedly breached a secret deal over the former couple\u2019s 2007 sex tape scandal.<\/p>\n
Legal drama surrounding the tape culminated in a 2023 settlement, which reportedly included a nondisclosure agreement barring the parties from speaking out or making any false claims about it.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, the Kardashians stars were said to have paid the rapper \u2014 whose real name is William Ray Norwood, Jr. \u2014 a whopping $6 million in instalments, with the final million due in 2026.<\/p>\n
However, according to documents obtained by Page Six<\/a>, Jenner and Kardashian blasted Ray J in a May 2025 legal letter, accusing him of violating the NDA and demanding that he return the $US5 million ($6.9 million) they paid him thus far, and pay them an additional $1 million each ($1.3 million).<\/p>\n In a 2025 livestream, without any supporting evidence, Ray J accused the reality stars of being investigated for racketeering.<\/p>\n Kardashian and Jenner responded by suing the rapper for defamation in October 2025, calling his claims \u201cblatantly false,\u201d and stating in court documents that \u201cno such federal investigation exists\u201d.<\/p>\n Ray J countersued in November 2025. The musician denied he defamed the reality-famous duo and pointed to their own comments on The Kardashians as alleged proof they had violated the NDA themselves.<\/p>\n He\u2019s also repeatedly accused the mother-daughter duo of orchestrating the release of the tape \u2014 a claim they blasted as \u201ca lie\u201d and \u201cabsolutely false\u201d in declarations filed in Los Angeles last month.<\/p>\n A resurfaced legal letter obtained by Page Six \u2014 which was issued on October 3, right after the lawsuit was filed \u2014 again alleged Ray J had \u201cmaterially breached\u201d the agreement by speaking about the 2023 settlement during an October livestream, during which he allegedly \u201cdisclosed the existence, terms, and conditions\u201d of the agreement.<\/p>\n The letter, from Kardashian and Jenner\u2019s lawyers to Ray J, demanded that the hit maker \u201cimmediately remit\u201d the $US5 million ($6.9 million) he\u2019d been paid, in addition to $US1 million ($1.3 million) \u201cper breach,\u201d equalling $7 million.<\/p>\n They also claimed that \u201call remaining payment obligations are now extinguished,\u201d referencing the 2023 settlement, which according to the docs, was signed by Jenner, Kardashian, Ray J and Ray J\u2019s mother, Sonja Norwood.<\/p>\n Representatives for Ray J, Kardashian and Jenner did not immediately return Page Six\u2019s requests for comment on Saturday. TMZ<\/a> was first to report the news.<\/p>\n Last month, Kardashian and Jenner lost a legal bid to keep parts of the 2023 settlement with Ray J private.<\/p>\n The duo had argued that releasing details of the settlement \u201cwould cause substantial harm\u201d to their privacy \u2014 however, Judge Steven A. Ellis ruled that they \u201cpresented no admissible evidence\u201d that the details becoming public would be harmful to them.<\/p>\n
