{"id":387122,"date":"2026-04-19T10:41:14","date_gmt":"2026-04-19T10:41:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/387122\/"},"modified":"2026-04-19T10:41:14","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T10:41:14","slug":"fireball-g1-stallion-prospect-dam-in-inglis-chairmans-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/387122\/","title":{"rendered":"Fireball G1 Stallion Prospect &#8211; Dam in Inglis Chairman&#8217;s Sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Inglis Millennium winner\u00a0Fireball (Snitzel)\u00a0cemented himself as a future stallion with a tenacious victory in today\u2019s G1 Champagne Stakes at Randwick.<\/p>\n<p>Fireball is arguably the most versatile juvenile of his crop \u2013 he won a pre-Christmas race over 1100m, won the $2m Inglis Millennium in February and has contested all three legs of the 2YO Triple Crown, culminating with today\u2019s Champagne victory over 1600m.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"James Harron purchased Fireball from Inglis Easter for $460,000 - image Bradley Photos\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/breednet-images-james-h-fireball-30612.jpg\" style=\"width: 600px; height: 399px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership teamed up with Tony Fung Colts to purchase the Chris Waller-trained Fireball for $460,000 at last year\u2019s Easter Yearling Sale, from the Yarraman Park Stud draft.<\/p>\n<p>Bred by Michael O\u2019Keeffe, Fireball (pictured) has now won three of his six career starts and earned $2,030,000 in prizemoney.<\/p>\n<p>Harron described today\u2019s victory as \u201creally special\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe dug so deep there at the end, I\u2019m really proud of the horse,\u2019\u2019 Harron said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s such a versatile horse and in today\u2019s landscape, I think that\u2019s what people want as there\u2019s so many races for these horses and to win from 1100m to a mile at two, it just opens up so many possibilities going forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was always a gorgeous colt at the Easter Sale, a lovely big scopey son of Snitzel, he\u2019s a horse we just had to have.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was our first year teaming up with TFI and to get a G1 winner in that first year of the partnership is super special, it means an awful lot, we\u2019re thrilled to get the win today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously Snitzel unfortunately is not with us anymore but he\u2019s left an incredible mark in the industry and continues to do so every single week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo have a son like him waiting in the wings is exactly what we\u2019re trying to do, we\u2019re targeting sons of Snitzel to be in this position and it\u2019s nice when a plan comes off because it\u2019s a hard game to make plans come off.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Fireball was a $460,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Yarraman Park.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/breednet-images-fireball-yearling-28539.jpg\" style=\"width: 600px; height: 438px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Winning trainer Waller added: \u201cFull credit to the horse because he&#8217;s been able to deal with [a long preparation].
