(KSLA) &#8211; Shreveport city leaders are fixing a mistake in retirement payments after an internal audit found staff posted more than $1 million to the wrong pension funds for nearly eight years.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"link | text-reset d-block h-100 w-100\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ksla.com\/page\/ksla-streaming\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"KSLA\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1776636616_802_CJULBREU3RAOTLOR7JDJACWJXM.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The city\u2019s audit office says about $1.3 million was put in the wrong accounts between the fire, police, and city employee retirement plans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The audit says 34 retirees were affected, with mistakes ranging from about $600 to more than $82,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">City leaders say it happened before the current HR team, and they\u2019re training staff now.
