Detective Sergeant Tim Somerton said it was too early to comment on the circumstances of the crash.<\/p>\n
He confirmed the bike rider was from Gisborne, in his early 20s. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are looking for dash camera footage related to the crash that motorists in that area on Sunday night may have,\u201d Somerton said.<\/p>\n
SH35 reopened at 1am, according to NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi.<\/p>\n
It was Tair\u0101whiti\u2019s second fatal road crash in just over a week.<\/p>\n
Two young men died in a crash on Tucker Rd at Makauri, on April 11. <\/p>\n
