New Zealand archers delivered a commanding performance on home soil at the 2026 World Archery Oceania Target Championships<\/a> in Auckland, topping the medal standings across multiple disciplines and team events.<\/p>\n

The hosts swept the recurve individual podiums, with Ben McLean <\/a>taking gold in the men\u2019s event ahead of Mitchell Osborne<\/a> and Finn Matheson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s competition, Julia Harrison<\/a> secured gold, while Isabella Matthews<\/a> and Nuala Edmundson<\/a> completed an all-New Zealand podium.<\/p>\n

New Zealand\u2019s dominance continued in compound, where Riku Van Tonder<\/a> clinched the men\u2019s title, defeating teammate Hector McNeilly<\/a> in the final. Tahiti\u2019s Raiarii Teuiau<\/a> claimed bronze.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s event, Lisa Walker<\/a> led another New Zealand one-two finish with gold, followed by ikki Matheson<\/a>, while Caroline Balber<\/a> of New Caledonia took bronze.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her victory in testing conditions, Walker said she was \u201cproud and a little relieved to come away with the win in extremely challenging wind conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 54-year-old also highlighted the growing depth of the field.<\/p>\n
