{"id":388753,"date":"2026-04-20T13:21:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T13:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/388753\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T13:21:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T13:21:08","slug":"new-zealand-dominates-at-oceania-championships-2026-in-auckland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/388753\/","title":{"rendered":"New Zealand dominates at Oceania Championships 2026 in Auckland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Zealand archers delivered a commanding performance on home soil at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/competition\/30927\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2026 World Archery Oceania Target Championships<\/a> in Auckland, topping the medal standings across multiple disciplines and team events.<\/p>\n<p>The hosts swept the recurve individual podiums, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/23463\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben McLean <\/a>taking gold in the men\u2019s event ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/53583\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mitchell Osborne<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/23462\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Finn Matheson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s competition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/23458\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Julia Harrison<\/a> secured gold, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/48094\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Isabella Matthews<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/32275\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nuala Edmundson<\/a> completed an all-New Zealand podium.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand\u2019s dominance continued in compound, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/22483\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Riku Van Tonder<\/a> clinched the men\u2019s title, defeating teammate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldarchery.sport\/athlete\/48093\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hector McNeilly<\/a> in the final.
