{"id":389083,"date":"2026-04-20T17:57:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T17:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/389083\/"},"modified":"2026-04-20T17:57:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T17:57:11","slug":"apple-sports-now-works-with-carplay-heres-how-to-set-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/389083\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Sports now works with CarPlay, here&#8217;s how to set up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/apple-sports-update.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Good news for sports fans: Apple has updated its Sports app for iPhone, adding new support for CarPlay alongside more F1 race-tracking features.<\/p>\n<p>Apple Sports on CarPlay now goes beyond Live Activities<\/p>\n<p>Apple Sports version 3.10 includes the first persistent Apple CarPlay features.<\/p>\n<p>While there\u2019s no dedicated app, Apple Sports now includes multiple widgets that work with CarPlay.<\/p>\n<p>Apple\u2019s Sports app supports two small widgets in the car: My Teams and Leagues.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"384\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_2524.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1048864\"  \/>My Teams widget on the left; League widget on the right<\/p>\n<p>Before now, Apple Sports only appeared in CarPlay as a Live Activity during a game or event.<\/p>\n<p>Apple Sports widgets for CarPlay can be configured on iPhone after updating to version 3.10 of the app.<\/p>\n<p>You can set up widgets on CarPlay from the Settings app on iPhone: Settings &gt; General &gt; CarPlay &gt; My Car &gt; Widgets.<\/p>\n<p>From here, you can add a widget from the Sports app to a CarPlay widget stack.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"512\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/carplay-sports-widget.webp.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1048873\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Teams that appear in the My Teams widget are based on which teams you favorite in the Sports app on iPhone.<\/p>\n<p>The Leagues widget is configurable from the CarPlay widget settings screen. Tap the \u201ci\u201d icon to toggle which leagues appear for the CarPlay widget.<\/p>\n<p>CarPlay can display one, two, or three widget stacks \u2014 depending on your car. The number of stacks displayed is based on the screen resolution of your car display.<\/p>\n<p>You may be able to show an additional widget stack by enabling Smart Display Zoom.
