Each appearance has brought out some of this season\u2019s most extravagant styles, including looks from Susan Fang, Schiaparelli, Valentino, Chanel, Stella McCartney, and, of course, Prada. The designer blitz is a far cry from the more subdued looks that graced the movie\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/slideshow\/looking-back-at-the-2006-premiere-of-the-devil-wears-prada\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">original red carpet<\/a> at the L.A. Film Festival 20 years ago. As Meryl Streep noted in Vogue\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/meryl-streep-anna-wintour-may-cover-2026-interview\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">May 2026 cover story to Greta Gerwig<\/a>, \u201cWell, everybody was afraid of Anna on the first one, so we couldn\u2019t find any clothes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This time around, vibrant, fresh-off-the-runway fashion is taking center stage. \u201cI\u2019m aware of the eyeballs on it,\u201d Erin Walsh\u2014Anne Hathaway\u2019s longtime stylist and former early 2000s Voguette\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/anne-hathaway-devil-wears-prada-2-press-tour-wardrobe\" class=\"text link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told Vogue\u2019s<\/a> Christian Allaire. The inspiration for such exciting looks? \u201cIf you look at all the major houses that have these new [designers] leading them, there\u2019s this idea of leaning into joy, and clothes that make you feel like the supernova version of yourself,\u201d explained Walsh.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s been ample opportunity to play up the nostalgia from the original film\u2019s costumes, too. A few of the cast members have sported their own updated versions of the famous cerulean blue\u2014Streep sported a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com\/article\/meryl-streep-the-devil-wears-prada-cerulean\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"text link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">custom J.Crew crewneck<\/a>, Hathaway opted for fringed Sacai, and Simone Ashley (the Gen Z Emily) stepped out in a Fidan Novruzova dress.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, The Devil Wears Prada 2 lands in New York for the official world premiere.
