(File photo)<br \/>\nPhoto: Supplied\/Marlborough Environment Centre\n<\/p>\n<p>A plane has landed safely following an emergency landing at Marlborough Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Fire and Emergency NZ said fire engines from Woodbourne, Renwick and Blenheim were sent to the scene in preparation for the landing.<\/p>\n<p>Marlborough Airport operations and safety manager Steve Holtum said a plane flying from Wellington to Blenheim had activated a standby emergency, which was a precautionary measure to ensure emergency services were nearby and ready to activate.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly before 10am, a Fire and Emergency spokesperson confirmed the plane had landed safely.<\/p>\n<p>Holtum said emergency services, including volunteer firefighters from Blenheim and Renwick, reported promptly to the airport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While their services were not required, this exercise showed that our emergency protocols are working and fit for purpose.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/radionz.us6.list-manage.com\/subscribe?u=211a938dcf3e634ba2427dde9&amp;id=b3d362e693\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sign up for Ng\u0101 Pitopito K\u014drero<\/a>, a daily newsletter curated by our editors and delivered straight to your inbox every weekday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Marlborough Airport.
