Almost 45 people have put their hands up for Dunedin City Council\u2019s top job.<\/p>\n
In a statement, Dunedin Mayor Sophie Barker said she was pleased to say the council received 44 applications for the chief executive role, including three from overseas.<\/p>\n
When asked, she did not say if incumbent Sandy Graham had applied.<\/p>\n
Applications closed on Sunday and were being processed \u2014 a long list of candidates would be considered by the chief executive performance and employment committee, Ms Barker said.<\/p>\n
Interviews would follow next month.<\/p>\n
Ms Graham was appointed to the role in 2020, for an initial five-year contract, after a recruitment process that drew 51 applicants.<\/p>\n
The council last year extended her contract by a year. That extension is due to expire in October this year.<\/p>\n
Ms Barker has previously said recruitment agency Sheffield South Island was chosen to support the appointment process and ensure there was a wide and high-quality pool of candidates.<\/p>\n
