\n\tDrake has announced<\/a> that his ninth studio album, \u201cIceman,\u201d is scheduled for release on May 15.<\/p>\n

\n\tWaiting for Drake<\/a>\u2018s official \u201cIceman\u201d release date was something akin to\u2026 well, watching ice melt. On Monday, he revealed that he\u2019d buried the album date in the middle of blocks of ice that were set up in Toronto as a promotional vehicle for the record. On Tuesday, a streamer named Kishka retrieved a bag from the ice blocks and headed to Drake\u2019s house, where he opened the contents to reveal the date. Drake later confirmed on social media that the album was, in fact, arriving on May 15.<\/p>\n

\n\tDrake has been teasing the project as far back as 2024, when he referenced Val Kilmer\u2019s character nicknamed \u201cIceman\u201d in \u201cTop Gun\u201d on social media. Soon after, he shared a screenshot of a folder titled \u201c2.0 \u2013 Iceman\u201d of what was presumed to be songs for the record.<\/p>\n

\n\tDrake began concretely teasing the album in July 2025, when he debuted his livestream \u201cIceman Episode 1\u201d on YouTube. During the stream, he previewed several songs including \u201cWhat Did I Miss?,\u201d which was released to streaming platforms the following day. He followed suit with two other livestreams where he debuted new tracks and instrumentals including \u201cWhich One\u201d featuring Central Cee and \u201cDog House\u201d featuring Julia Wolf and Yeat, both of which were put on streaming.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIceman\u201d marks Drake\u2019s first full-length solo outing since 2023\u2019s \u201cFor All the Dogs\u201d and his highly publicized feud with Kendrick Lamar. In August 2024, he released a massive folder of unreleased music, studio footage and behind-the-scenes clips along with three songs including \u201cIt\u2019s Up\u201d featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, \u201cHousekeeping Knows\u201d featuring Latto and \u201cBlue Green Red.\u201d A few weeks later, he put out three other new songs \u2014 \u201cCircadian Rhythm,\u201d \u201cSOD\u201d and \u201cNo Face\u201d featuring Playboi Carti \u2014 via his Instagram burner account @plottttwistttttt.<\/p>\n
