After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/madonna-teases-confession-on-dance-floor-2-song-snippet-pic-1236222351\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">teasing the album <\/a>and sharing that she is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DDpfxnmS0_G\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">working with her old collaborator<\/a> Stuart Price, the pop megastar officially announced the new album on April 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tConfessions II is a sequel to Madonna\u2019s 2005 Billboard 200 No. 1 album Confessions on a Dance Floor. On top of being her first work in more than half a decade, the new record is also the singer\u2019s first album since her return to Warner Records. The major label <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/pop\/madonna-return-warner-records-teases-2026-dance-album-1236069406\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced in September<\/a> that Madonna would be coming back to where it all began after nearly two decades away. Warner Records became Madonna\u2019s first label after she signed there in 1982. She remained with the label for the first 25 years of her career, during which she released 11 albums, including the original Confessions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tIn a now-deleted Instagram post from September, the pop star celebrated her return to Warner Records and teased the new album, writing, \u201cAlmost 2 decades later \u2014 And it feels like home with Warner Records! Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor, Back to where it all began! COADF \u2013 Pt. 2 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cCOADF \u2013 Pt. 2\u201d is now officially on the horizon. On April 17, Madonna made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s Coachella weekend 2 headlining set to perform \u201cVogue,\u201d \u201cLike a Prayer\u201d and an unreleased duet with the \u201cEspresso\u201d singer. Following the surprise performance, Madonna released the first song from Confessions II at midnight on April 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFrom the release date to the first taste of music, see everything we know about Confessions II so far below.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe Release Date<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tConfessions II will come out on July 3 via Warner Records.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe Album Cover<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMadonna shared the official album cover to her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DXJzbk9DJ-O\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a> on April 18. The artwork features a photo of the star sat atop of a speaker, donning a sheer purple veil over her face and body, purple thigh-high stockings over black fishnet tights and a lace dress. Her name and the album cover are overlaid on either side of her body.<\/p>\n<p>\tIt\u2019s a Sequel<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tConfessions II is a sequel to Madonna\u2019s 2005 Billboard 200 No. 1 album Confessions on a Dance Floor. The original album featured the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit \u201cHung Up,\u201d which samples ABBA\u2019s 1979 single \u201cGimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\tThe Lead Producer<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tMadonna enlisted her Confessions on a Dance Floor collaborator Stuart Price to produce Confessions II. The singer first shared their reunion with a video post to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/DDpfxnmS0_G\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram<\/a> in December 2024. In the clip, Madonna and Price are seen together in the studio and in the caption, Madonna wrote that the two were working on new music that she was excited to share with her fans.<\/p>\n<p>\tThe First Song<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAfter\u00a0debuting the track on iHeartRadio\u2019s Pride station the day prior, Madonna released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/madonna-i-feel-so-free-released-after-coachella-appearance-1236226230\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the first taste of Confessions II<\/a>, a song called \u201cI Feel So Free,\u201d on April 18. The release of the track followed Madonna\u2019s surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s Coachella weekend 2 headlining set. The more than five-minute-long song is a pulsating dance track reminiscent of the sound of the first Confessions album.<\/p>\n<p>\tIt\u2019s a Dance Album<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAlthough Madonna is one to do the unexpected, by virtue of Confessions II being the follow-up to Confessions on a Dance Floor, it naturally had to be a dance album. In a press statement about the new album, Madonna shared her and Price\u2019s \u201cmanifesto\u201d when creating the work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cWe must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies. These are things that we\u2019ve been doing for thousands of years \u2014 they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. Altering our consciousness and dissolving ego and time.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tFurther cementing Confessions II as a dance album, in the lyrics to \u201cI Feel So Free,\u201d Madonna invites listeners to \u201cCome on, meet me on the dance floor.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\tIt May Have a Sabrina Carpenter Collab<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tWhen Madonna joined Sabrina Carpenter on stage at Coachella, the two pop stars performed two of Madonna\u2019s biggest hits, Billboard Hot 100 chart toppers \u201cVogue\u201d and \u201cLike a Prayer,\u201d and a new song that no one has heard before.
