We think not, which is why we\u2019re here to deliver the news that ITV\u2019s hit series, Grace<\/a>, is officially on its way back with its most exciting \u2013 and different – series yet. And it seems we all need to buckle up because, according to TV insiders, series 7 is set to be pretty explosive. <\/p>\n

When we last saw Detective Superintendent Roy Grace (John Simm), things were, well, a little chaotic, to say the least. His wedding day didn\u2019t exactly go without a hitch as his wife-to-be Cleo (Zo\u00eb Tapper) was kidnapped. It was by far the show\u2019s biggest cliffhanger yet and one that means we\u2019re quite literally on tenterhooks to see what happens next.<\/p>\n

While we patiently await series 7’s arrival on our screens, here’s everything you need to know about Grace’s return, including the plot, cast and how to watch it. <\/p>\n

Based on the bestselling novels by Peter James, the Brighton-set series stars John Simm in the lead role of Detective Superintendent Roy Grace. When we meet him, Grace is a hard-working detective who\u2019s haunted by the disappearance of his wife, Sandy. Over the course of six series, however, life evolves somewhat and we follow Grace and his sidekick, Glenn Branson (Richie Campbell), as they take on all sorts of investigations \u2013 from the case of a missing groom to a 30-year-old murder investigation.<\/p>\n

The new series will, thankfully, see John Simm reprise his role as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, along with Richie Campbell, who will return as the ever reliable DI Glenn Branson. Once again consisting of four standalone films, we know that the new investigations will include the titles \u2018When You Are Dead\u2019 and \u2018Picture You Dead\u2019 \u2013 intriguing! But in a move that sets the new episodes apart, ITV has said the new episodes will be based on characters from the novels rather than books themselves, so we\u2019re expecting the seventh series to be somewhat different to what we\u2019ve seen before. <\/p>\n

So, what\u2019s the story? Well, ITV is being tight-lipped about the plot, but we\u2019re expecting the new series to answer some questions we were left with the after series seven finale, which fans will remember ended with Cleo\u2019s (Zo\u00eb Tapper) kidnapping at her and Roy\u2019s wedding. John Simm has also teased some what\u2019s in store, saying: \u201cHonestly, if someone had said we\u2019d be doing this for seven seasons when we first started this in lockdown I would never have believed it. <\/p>\n
