Tommy Little has revealed the unusual side gig he\u2019s taken to performing in theatre toilets after his recent comedy shows. <\/p>\n
This week, the 41-year-old comedian told the Stellar podcast he\u2019s picked up an unexpected hobby while spending the past year trying to \u201cbetter myself\u201d. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve become obsessed with poetry. It\u2019s so embarrassing. I\u2019m reading it, writing it, all of it,\u201d he told Something To Talk About host Sarrah Le Marquand on this week\u2019s episode. <\/p>\n
\u201cAt my stand-up gigs, I\u2019ve just started doing a secret little gig afterwards where I read people some poems,\u201d he explained. <\/p>\n
\u201cI take them into the \u2013 it sounds sus and I promise it\u2019s not \u2013 but I take them into the toilet of the theatre, like five or six people, and I stand on the sh*tter and read poetry.\u201d <\/p>\n
The comedian, who has carved out a career in stand-up, radio and television, says reading poetry makes him feel \u201cso vulnerable\u201d. <\/p>\n

\u201cI break out in a full body sweat, and so if someone was to walk past, they\u2019d see a man standing on a toilet while five strangers watch him, and it would look like a full blown breakdown,\u201d he joked. <\/p>\n
Earlier in the interview, the radio star admitted he had come to the realisation that he was the reason he\u2019s still single in his early 40s, so he\u2019d set out to explore a year of wellness in the hopes that he could be better equipped for relationships and, perhaps one day, fatherhood. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis was essentially a year of trying to make myself a more viable partner, and hopefully a potential father, one day,\u201d he shared. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve had enough relationships to realise I\u2019m the problem, I\u2019m the only common denominator here. <\/p>\n
\u201cSo I just spent a year trying to better myself \u2026 but it didn\u2019t go very well.\u201d <\/p>\n
The former The Project co-host admitted he\u2019s wanted to have children for a long time \u2013 a desire he has spoken about often \u2013 but hasn\u2019t been in the right relationship to make it happen. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe truth is I\u2019ve wanted them for quite some time, but I haven\u2019t put the work into maintaining relationships to a point where it\u2019s a good option for both of us involved,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt hasn\u2019t been until recently that I\u2019ve really got my head out of my own arse and realised that there\u2019s things that I can work on to be a better potential partner.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then hopefully get to the point of having kids with someone \u2013 and making each other really happy and making a family really happy.\u201d <\/p>\n
