Loathe<\/a> have announced A Stranger to You, the band\u2019s first new album in five years. Ahead of its July 17th release via SharpTone Records, the single \u201cRevenant\u201d has been unveiled.<\/p>\n

The new album is slated to feature several guests among its tracks, including jazz and trip-hop artist Jordan Rakei, the highly conceptual pop screamo band STATIC DRESS, prog and jazz-rock prodigy Mansur Brown, and rapper bucki sugar.<\/p>\n

The song \u201cRevenant\u201d features NOWHERE2RUN, the group comprised of Code Orange members Jami Morgan and Eric \u201cShade\u201d Balderose. Alongside a combination of shoegaze, nu-metal, and progressive metal, downtuned riffs reminiscent of Korn are layered with frantic hardcore vocals and icy synths, with the occasional industrial metal or avant-garde noise guitar added in.<\/p>\n

This new single follows the release of \u201cGifted Every Strength\u201d<\/a> in May of last year. While at the time it was a stand-alone release, it has now been confirmed to also appear on the upcoming studio album.<\/p>\n

Loathe will kick off an Australian tour on May 9th in Perth, before heading over to Europe for a run of June dates. Static Dresses will be along for the ride for the Australian shows, while Loathe will be supporting Mastodon for several of their EU dates.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Loathe are set to play Lollapalooza<\/a> in Chicago on July 31st, and Louder Than Life<\/a> in Louisville on September 18th.<\/p>\n
