Once they got the shark on to the beach, the boys worked together to take the hook out of its mouth, with one of them straddling the fish and pushing it back into the ocean.<\/p>\n

Quade and Keegan\u2019s father, Shayne Johnson, said they\u2019re a fishing-mad family.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re doing it non-stop. When we\u2019re not working, we\u2019re fishing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson said it was \u201chistory repeating itself\u201d with the kids going shark fishing \u2013 just like he did when he was growing up.<\/p>\n

Bronze whaler sharks are common in the area, especially when the water is at the warmer end of its annual range, Johnson said, adding that the species was \u201cpretty mellow\u201d and they don\u2019t go out of their way to bite.<\/p>\n

Johnson said the boys catch and release.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said to my boys, you don\u2019t kill anything or harm it unless you\u2019re going to eat it, right?<\/p>\n

\u201cSo they\u2019ve been taught the right way. Otherwise, they\u2019d be in severe trouble if they were down there being horrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

The boys use circle hooks to hook a shark in the side of the mouth, grinding off the barbs so the hook can slide out.<\/p>\n

Johnson said he loved that the boys were outside having a good time.<\/p>\n

Although the boys are used to catching sharks and letting them go, they were quite chuffed about the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey think they\u2019re famous now,\u201d laughed Johnson.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s cool. They\u2019re just boys having fun, you know? Just gets them out of the house. They\u2019re not on iPads and phones in there.
