What brought you to Sioux Falls?<\/p>\n
My current position brought my family and I here.<\/p>\n
What keeps you in Sioux Falls?<\/p>\n
We love Sioux Falls. It\u2019s a great family town where our kids have everything they could want. The restaurant scene is excellent, and as a big outdoorsman, I appreciate how plentiful and accessible public land is here compared to many other areas. Fishing, hunting and general outdoor activities are better and much easier to enjoy.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s your favorite thing about your job?<\/p>\n
Growing up, my family wasn\u2019t in a great financial position. For much of my childhood, it was my mom raising three kids in a small two-bedroom apartment. One of my favorite parts of this job is working with young families and individuals to help set them up for financial success early on, in hopes that I can help more families live a more fulfilling life.<\/p>\n
How did you get connected to your industry?<\/p>\n
My father was in the industry for three to four years back when I was in middle school. He stayed in touch with his previous employer and remained good friends with him. About five years ago, I was at a poker game at that employer\u2019s house while looking to switch careers. One thing led to another, and I became a financial adviser.<\/p>\n

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?<\/p>\n
My wife has unintentionally got me addicted to \u201cThe Real Housewives\u201d series.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s your favorite way to give back to your community?<\/p>\n
I volunteer a lot with our local NAVHDA chapter. NAVHDA, the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, is a hunting dog training, testing and registry organization that helps people train their own versatile gun dogs. Most weekends in the summer, I\u2019m out at club training days helping others run and train their dogs. This April, I\u2019m leading a \u201cHunting Dog 101\u201d course at the Outdoor Campus to inspire youth and new hunters to become dog handlers.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s one business you\u2019d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn\u2019t here now?<\/p>\n
Being born and raised in Lincoln, I would love to see a Runza in Sioux Falls. I frequently make work trips down to Yankton, which has the closest Runza, but I would prefer to have one closer.<\/p>\n
If you had $1 million to start a business, what kind of business would it be?<\/p>\n
Option 1: I\u2019d start a real estate investment company. If I kept my current job and wanted additional income streams, my past experience in property management would make this a great fit.
